Dutch Solid Silver Miniature Sailing Ship (De Zeven Provincien) Assayed 1977

  
I believe it is a reproduction of the De Zeven Provincien which was the flagship of the Dutch navy circa 1665. The model is supported by 4 dolphins which are set on a wooden base. To one side is a plaque which says Stork Werkspoor Diesel. From what Ive found, I believe this to be a Dutch company that produces engines for ships so I imagine this piece was acquired for presentation purposes. The keel has full Dutch assay marks showing Minervas Head, the Lion with the number II beneath for 835 grade silver and the date letter for 1977. To the end of the keel is the makers mark H. Hooykaas although the first letter is poorly struck.

This piece is in lovely condition and the detail is beautifully crisp. The only issues I can find are one broken rope (please see the photo) and that the top hole of the central flag has a tendency to come off its fixing but its easily replaced.
