The plate is hand decorated in underglaze blue with a central blossoming sprig surrounded by a band of further prunus blossom and a band of'lingxi' fungus forms. The outer bands are decorated with panels of floral sprigs with a band of cross hatched trellis work in between.The underside has a Kangxi'Pearl' mark within double blue rings, within an unglazed foot rim and three flowering prunus blossom branches around the outer rim. A similar example with the same mark can be found in the British Museum, part of the Augustus Franks collection. The silver mount with later Dutch marks, fully hallmarked as follows. Silver grade: Lion passant mark for 2nd purity, 833 grade silver. Assay office: Minerva's Head with letter'A' for Amsterdam. Makers mark: partially rubbed - indecipherable. Diameter: 21.7 or 8 1/2 inches. In good antique condition, without visible damage or restoration.
