Each spoon is hallmarked on the reverse with the lion mark for Dutch 833 purity silver, the Minerva's head duty mark, the maker's mark for J. Van Kempen & Son, and a year mark. Four spoons have an'h' year mark for 1867, one spoon has an'i' for 1868, and seven spoons have a'p' for 1874.
The spoons have some surface wear commensurate with age and light use and some small dings on the edges of the bowls, but this is fairly minor. There are no major dents, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs. The spoons are 8 1/8 inches long. The combined weight of the set is 828.7 grams or 29 ounces.
