The spoons are very well made and have great weight. Each spoon is hallmarked on the reverse with the lion mark for Dutch 833 purity silver, the Minerva's head duty mark, the maker's mark for J. Van Kempen & Son, and a year mark. Four spoons have an'h' year mark for 1867 and seven spoons have an'r' year mark for 1876.
The spoons have some surface wear commensurate with age and light use and some small dings here and there, but this is fairly minor. There are no dents, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs. The spoons are 7 1/4 inches long.
