The origin of these delightful salt cellars/sweetmeats is uncertain. Each is boldly marked on the bottom (see photographs), but determining the country of origin is difficult. Two likely choices for country of origin are German (Hanau) and Holland. If anyone recognizes the marks I would appreciate hearing from you. I had these tested for silver content. They are also quite lovely. Each stands on 4 legs. On each side is a swan and two cygnots on a lake with a house in the background. Each measures 1 1/2" tall and 1 1/4" wide and deep. Together they weight 3.490 troy ounces or 108.5 grams. A little more polish would bring out the true beauty of these little gems. I have been an estate liquidator for 38 years.
