A rare Dutch solid silver novelty snuff box. It is hallmarked with the lion and key Dutch mark showing it was made for export, the Minerva head mark with the letter M showing it was assayed in Schoonhoven and the date letter Y for 1908 it is also marked with a makers mark.

It has been beautifully designed being in the form of a Dutch clog shoe and has been decorated with 18th century scenes. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs. The lid fits tight and the inside is clean. It measures over 2.5 inches (6.7cms) long by 1 inch (2.6cms) wide by 1.25 inches (3.2cms) tall and weighs 28 grams.
