Mead is beer sweetened with honey This scarce and desirable flagon or pitcher features a prominent coat of arms, including floral scroll decorations, a knight's helmet, a crown, and a shield with 2 birds and 2 trees. Made in the Netherlands and date marked for 1894.
This splendid flagon measures 3 1/8" in diameter at its largest, with a 2 15/16" wide base and a 2 3/16 diameter mouth. Measures 3 3/4" from handle to the opposite edge and stands 8 1/2" tall, weighing 9.4 ozt. The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
