Founded as a silk printing business by William Asprey, it soon became a luxury emporium. In 1841, William Asprey's elder son Charles went into partnership with a stationer located on London's Bond Street. The most stunning Dutch Solid silver vesta or nutmeg box? It has a rasp set into the base which could be either a rasp grater or match striker. Designed a a chest with domed top having a pastoral scene to the top with figures in cartouches to the sides.
The striker place is on the base of the box. 86.13 grams and is 6.5cm x 4.5cm x 4.3cm. This is a once of a life time antique collectable. Date letter w being 1881.
