A very interesting Dutch miniature silver chair with cast rush seat and hand cut frame with lattice back. The book on this subject by John Endlich attributes these chairs to the early 18th century and Amsterdam production with the double stretcher being a particular feature. There is some further evidence via a collection at the Arnhem Museum that this design was in fact late 17th century and by Hendrick van der Star.
This chair also has a (admittedly very poorly struck) mark near the top of the left upright (as viewed) which could accord with this. Unfortunately the information is only third party but I will continue to try and seek clarity and while doing so the chair is listed for sale - which gives you the opportunity to speculate should you wish. As expected for period, minor wear and oxidisation. Rather uneven in construction which fits with early hand cut and soldered examples. If for any reason you are unhappy with your item please let us know as soon as possible, and we will do our best to put things right.
