A Dutch Solid silver & glass mustard sauce pot style of George III period. This piece of silver is stunning it is in two parts the cut glass preserve or mustard pot has a beautiful hand planished top with bee hive terminal and reeded decoration to the rim. The solid silver stand has three stylised shell holders that the glass body fits into. Weight: 388 grams in total, the stand weighs 76 grams whilst the pot weighs 312 grams. Hallmarks: as per photos the lion silver standard.
Makers mark: as per photos with Minerva helmet head hallmark & the lion silver standard mark of 2 being 2nd standard of purity 833 together with a letter stamped to the frame which I believe is x for 1822 however it has being stamped on the ridge of the frame & not very clear so please satisfy yourself to this. The nut under the base has been lost and soldered into place. Please see the photos which form part of the description. This is a very nice unusual item.
